第19回WSET Diploma勉強会 – 番外編 –

This Session will be held in English.

Our monthly study sessions are especially aimed at current WSET Diploma candidates and focus each on a different topic, brought to you by a WSET Diploma graduate. They are suited both to students preparing for a specific exam and to candidates just starting their way in the Diploma Programme.

This session will be focused on how to structure conclusions for each flight: Grape Variety, Country, Region and Mixed Bag. Writing conclusions and justifying your answer.

We will provide exactly the same wines as in the 2020 October D3 Tasting Examination. We will taste each flight and practice how to structure conclusions for each flight and some template English phrases. I will provide some example conclusions and maybe bad examples. If you can get the wine/grape/country/region etc., you can get distinction, but even if you get all “wrong” you can still pass using logic and technique.

■Past Exam Wines(12 Wines): 2020 October D3 exam
・Question 1(3 Wines) :Same grape variety
・Question 2(3 Wines) :Same country of origin
・Question 3(3 Wines) :Same region of origin
・Question 4(3 Wines) :Different regions of origin(Mixed bag)

Due to time limit we will not go through the SAT for each wine in detail (this is not a calibration session) but just extract the most important points to justify your answer e.g. high acidity, high alcohol, color, distinctive aromas etc. and how to write a successful conclusion.

It will be more self-study than a tutored lesson but will provide some valuable hints on how to successfully pass the D3 Tasting.
